Momvia text message — she has no wallet, and that's fine

Hi Mom — you've got money

She tapped your text. This page is all she needs — no wallet, no app, no account.

You've been sent

50 USDG

“Lunch is on me this week”

from your kid

It's yours, Mom

Parked on Robinhood Chain, self-custodied in this browser.

One important step: back this up.

Your money lives under a key in this browser. If this browser's data is cleared without a backup, the money is gone — and nobody, including us, can bring it back.

Working…

Everything above is a simulation with embedded example data. The real flow signs real transactions on Robinhood Chain — but the steps are exactly these.

How it works

Four states. One honest answer at each: who controls the money?

Usher never holds anything. The money moves from your keys, to a key inside a link, to a key your recipient owns.

01 · SENT

You seal the envelope

You pick an amount. Your browser generates a fresh key, you sign two quick transactions to fund it with USDG plus a dust of gas, and the key is folded into the link itself.

Who controls the money? You.You can cancel and reclaim any time before it's accepted.
02 · ACCEPTED

They tap Accept

Your recipient opens the link — no wallet, no app, no account. One tap creates a brand-new key on their device and sweeps the funds over to it. This is the ownership handoff.

Who controls the money? Only them.Your cancel window closes the moment they accept.
03 · PARKED

It waits, self-custodied

The balance sits on Robinhood Chain under their key, stored in their browser. They back it up (we make sure), and it patiently waits — a day, a month, whenever.

Who controls the money? Only them.Their key, their browser, their backup. Not us — ever.
04 · WITHDRAWN

Out to any wallet

When they're ready, a two-minute guide helps them install any wallet — or they paste an address they already have. One transaction sweeps everything out.

Who controls the money? Their wallet.Usher's job is done. It was never in the middle.

The honest trick

Why no wallet is needed

There's no magic and no custodian. Just one old, boring property of the web, used carefully.

usher.cash/#k=9f3a…c21b Everything after the # is a URL fragment. Browsers never send it over the network — it exists only on your device. Usher is a static page with no server, so there is nowhere to send it anyway.
  • The key lives in the link. When you create a money link, your browser generates a fresh key and tucks it after the #. The link literally carries the money's key.
  • There is no server. Usher is a static page. No database, no accounts, no backend that could log, freeze, or lose your funds. We can't see the key even if we wanted to.
  • We can never touch the money. Every transaction is signed on your device or your recipient's. Usher never holds, routes, or approves anything. The chain — Robinhood Chain, ~101ms blocks, negligible gas — does the rest.
  • Anyone can verify. Every link's balance is public on robinhoodchain.blockscout.com. Trust the chain, not us.

Security & honesty

The three things we insist you understand

Simple systems have simple truths. Here are ours, stated plainly — because trust that skips the caveats isn't trust.

Truth 01

A link is cash in an envelope

Before it's accepted, an Usher link is a bearer instrument: whoever holds it can claim it. Send it the way you'd hand over cash — a direct text to a person you trust, not a public post. After your recipient accepts, the link is spent and worthless to anyone else.

Truth 02

The browser is the vault — back it up

Parked funds live under a key in your recipient's browser. That's real self-custody, and it comes with a real duty: back up the key. We put an unavoidable backup step in the flow and we will nag about it, because cleared browser data without a backup means the money is gone. No support ticket can undo math.

Truth 03

Cancel works only before acceptance

Until your recipient taps Accept, you can cancel and sweep the funds back — the unclaimed envelope is still yours. The moment they accept, ownership hands off completely and permanently. We think that's exactly how a gift should work, and we won't pretend otherwise.

Labeled roadmap — not live A small optional contract adding auto-expiry refunds (unclaimed links bounce back on their own) and claim-once semantics is on the roadmap. Day one runs with zero contracts and zero backend: client-side keys, user-signed transactions, and public Blockscout reads. Nothing above depends on trusting us.

Cash-out guide

Turning USDG into money at your bank

The last mile matters most for someone new. Here's the honest version, not the brochure version.

First — what is USDG?

USDG is Global Dollar — a regulated, dollar-backed stablecoin issued by Paxos. One USDG is designed to hold the value of one US dollar. It's the dollar rail of Robinhood Chain, which is why Usher links carry it by default.

The realistic paths to a bank account

  1. Exchange route: withdraw your USDG to an exchange that supports it, sell for your local currency, and withdraw to your bank. This usually requires identity verification (KYC) — that's normal.
  2. Swap first if needed: if your exchange doesn't list USDG, swap it on Uniswap v3 (live on Robinhood Chain) for an asset your exchange does list, then follow the same route.
  3. Or just keep it: USDG parked in a wallet is already dollars you control. Cashing out has no deadline.
Region honesty: which exchanges, which fees, and which rules apply depends entirely on where you live. Some regions make this a ten-minute job; others make it genuinely annoying. We won't pretend it's uniform — check what's available in your country before you promise your mom her lunch money by Friday.

$USHER

The token at the door

$USHER is the community token of the Usher project on Robinhood Chain. It has not launched: there is no contract address yet, and any address claiming to be $USHER today is fake. When it launches, the CA will be announced here and on @usher_rh — nowhere else first.

FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers

Is the money in a link real money?
Yes. A real Usher link is funded with real USDG — a regulated, Paxos-issued, dollar-backed stablecoin — sitting at a real address on Robinhood Chain. You can paste the address into robinhoodchain.blockscout.com and watch it exist. (The demo on this page is simulated and labeled as such.)
What if someone intercepts the link before it's accepted?
Then they can claim it — that's what a bearer instrument means, and we say it out loud rather than in a footnote. Treat an unaccepted link like cash in an envelope: send it directly to the person, through a channel you trust. If you're worried a link leaked, cancel it immediately; cancel works any time before acceptance.
What happens if I clear my browser data while funds are parked?
If you made a backup (the key file or recovery phrase from the mandatory backup step), you restore and lose nothing. If you skipped the backup and clear your data, the key is destroyed and the money is unrecoverable — by you, by us, by anyone. This is the honest cost of self-custody, and it's why the backup step is not optional in the flow.
Can the sender take the money back?
Only before acceptance. While a link is unclaimed, the sender still holds a copy of its key and can sweep the funds home — useful for typos and cold feet. The instant the recipient taps Accept, funds move to a key only the recipient has, and the sender's power ends completely.
Does Usher charge fees or hold funds?
No and no. Usher is a static page: no backend, no custody, no spread, no fee switch. You pay only Robinhood Chain gas, which is negligible (blocks land in about 101 milliseconds). Our incentives live in $USHER, out in the open — not in a cut of your transfers.
Does my recipient need gas to accept?
No. When you create a link, you fund it with the USDG plus a tiny dust of gas. That dust pays for the recipient's accept-sweep and later their withdrawal. Zero-setup means zero, including gas.
Is Usher a bank, a custodian, or affiliated with Robinhood?
None of the three. Usher is independent software built on Robinhood Chain's public infrastructure — not a bank, not a money transmitter holding your funds, and not affiliated with or endorsed by Robinhood. Every balance is controlled by user-held keys from the first block to the last.
When does $USHER launch, and where do I find the real CA?
The contract address is TBA. When it exists, it will be posted here and on @usher_rh simultaneously — verify both before touching anything. Until then, every "USHER" contract you see is an impostor. Bookmark, verify, and never trust a CA from a reply or a DM.
